Giuseppe Garibaldi was upset by the mess of Italy in the 1830’s. He portrayed a nationalistic pride in his country when he decided to dedicate much of his life and time to fight for the unification of Italy. The battles were not easy, but Garibaldi did not let the enemy win. Garibaldi demonstrated true nationalism when he risked his life and gathered followers to fight for Italy’s unification.
Garibaldi first got involved in the fight for Italy’s unification when he met Giuseppe Mazzini. Mazzini was already an Italian politician and active in the unification process. He triggered Garibaldi’s concern with the fight. Garibaldi took an oath which dedicated him to the battle against Austria to liberate and unify his country.
